Unfortunately, some rather disappointing news. It looks as though Erasure's performance of 'Baby Love' is not going to be included in the 'Motown Mania' TV special this Saturday on ITV.
Erasure did record a live performance of this track for the TV special but the show's producers chose not to include it in the final programme.
There will be a new Erasure video interview on the DocRock website from 8am tomorrow. There is also a competition running on the site to win signed copies of 'Loveboat'.
You can also listen to a programme where Vince and Andy count down their favourite top 10 tracks at PureMix. To hear it, after logging on, complete the music mixer game and head to the edit player and select the Erasure special from the drop down music special menu.
There will be an exclusive interview with Erasure broadcast on VirtueTV at 7pm GMT this evening (October 31st). They will also be broadcasting the video for 'Freedom' for the next week.
Erasure's album 'Loveboat' reached #45 in the UK charts.
Due to popular demand, a second 12" is due to be released of 'Freedom'. The 12" features the two Mark Pichiotti remixes, including the 'Jail Term Dub' previously only available on a promotional 12".
A release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but it is likely to be 20th November.

The Erasure micro-site at Deo has been expanded, and now offers visitors the chance to hear full-length streaming versions of 'Freedom', 'Alien' and 'Moon & The Sky', plus 30-second clips of the other tracks from 'Loveboat'.
As previously mentioned, it also includes a streaming video of Erasure's performance at Mute's Irregular Concert, though to view this (and to hear the clips) you will need the Windows Media Player plug-in.
Tomorrow, on Friday 13th October, Erasure will be appearing on Top Of The Pops 3 on UK Play at 6.20pm and then, later that evening, on Liquid News on BBC Choice at 8.30pm.
There is a quarter page 'question and answer' style-interview with Andy Bell in the new edition of Time Out magazine (London, UK).
As previously announced, Erasure will be performing 2 or 3 songs at a Radio 2 In Nottingham show on October 14th, alongside Gabrielle, Chris Rea, Roachford, Eagle Eye Cherry and Neneh Cherry. The show will be broadcast live on The Richard Allison Saturday Show at around 4.15pm; you will also be able to listen to the broadcast in RealAudio via the Radio 2 web site.
The performance will be taking place at the 'Pitcher & Piano', a former 19th century chapel; tickets are not required, and admission is on a first-come first-served basis. The doors open at 3pm but you are strongly advised to get there early. The 'Pitcher & Piano' is located on High Pavement near the Broad Marsh Shopping Centre.

On October 7th, an Erasure feature written by Jens Hoehner will be published in 'Wochenende!', a supplement in the German newspaper Westdeutsche Zeitung.
Erasure are also interviewed for the October edition of Fluid, and their album 'Pop! - The First 20 Hits' is included on the list of 'Embarassing-But-Classic' albums in Esquire magazine.
Also remember to keep an eye out for reviews of the album in Mojo, Select, FHM and Q (not to mention local and national newspapers nearer the date of release). 'Freedom' is also reviewed, none-too-favourably, in the current edition of NME.
As you know, the new Erasure album 'Loveboat' will not be released in the USA, Canada or Japan until next year at the very earliest. However, you will be able to order the UK edition album from Mute Bank mail order, together with all of the formats for the single 'Freedom'.
Advance order for the single, 'Freedom', will be sent out on the UK release date (October 9th) and similarly those for the album, 'Loveboat' will be sent out on October 23rd.
For more details on how to place your advance orders, visit the Mute Bank.
Please note that this offer only applies to those in the USA, Canada and Japan. Everywhere else, Mute would prefer that people purchased the album from a record shop (to help the album's chart profile) and the album and single will not be available by mail order until 4 weeks after the UK release dates.
A new mini-website for Erasure has been launched at deo.com. At this site you will be able to listen to their new single, Freedom, and to watch a recording of their recent Irregular acoustic concert [you will need the Windows Media Player plugin].
Erasure will be appearing on Motown Mania, an ITV special due to be broadcast on December 16th. They will be performing a semi-acoustic version of 'Baby Love' by Diana Ross And The Supremes.
A studio-recorded version of the track, also featuring Valerie Chalmers and Emma Whittle on backing vocals and acoustic guitar by Nic Johnston, looks likely to be included on the accompanying CD, due for release on Universal Records on December 17th.
Although the plans about the second single from 'Loveboat' are still to be confirmed, Andy and Vince have mentioned in recent radio interviews that the second single from 'Loveboat' is likely to be a double a-side of 'Alien' and 'Moon & The Sky'.

The promotion-only Mute release 'Advance 2000.3' CD contains the 'Radio Mix' of Erasure's new single 'Freedom', alongside tracks from Mute artists Goldfrapp, Add n to (x), Echoboy and Recoil.
Although this CD was available for sale at the 'Irregular' concert, there are no plans for it to be made commercially available through the Mute Bank or The Erasure Information Service. The 'Radio Mix' of 'Freedom' is essentially just an edit of the standard album/single version.

Erasure's short acoustic appearance at Mute's 'Irregular' night on September 1st was extremely succesful; I hope everyone who either attended the concert at the Institute For Contemporary Arts or who watched it via the world wide web enjoyed the show.
Vince and Andy were both quite taken aback by the warmth and enthusiasm of the reception they received. Accompanied by Nic Johnston, and with backing vocals from Valerie Chalmers and Emma Whittle, Erasure peformed acoustic versions of 'Freedom', 'Alien', 'Where In The World' and 'A Little Respect'.
Apart from their appearance at 'Irregular', it looks extremely unlikely that Erasure will be touring to promote 'Loveboat' this year.
There may be some more one-off live appearances along the same lines at the 'Irregular' night, but there won't be any proper concerts in the UK or elsewhere.
Erasure's albums, 'The Innocents' (1988) and 'Pop! - The First 20 Hits' (1992) were re-released on the MiniDisc format on 18th September.
The albums were previously available on MiniDisc on Sony Records; these re-issues are on Mute. Both albums' tracklistings are the same as the standard UK CD releases.
Erasure's ninth studio album, 'Loveboat', will be released in the UK on the 23rd October. It marks something of a departure from Erasure's previous albums, with a more experimental and rougher-edged sound to the recording and, in particular, with the predominant use of acoustic guitar on some tracks.
Many of Andy's vocals have been recorded live to give the album a fresher, more intimate feel.
Including the single 'Freedom', the album includes other tracks that look set to become fan favourites, such as 'Love Is The Rage' and 'Alien'.
'Loveboat' will be available on:
- CD (CD Stumm 175)
- Cassette (C Stumm 175)
- MiniDisc (MD Stumm 175)
- Ltd Ed Heavy Vinyl (Stumm 175, includes poster)
Tacklisting:

- Crying In The Rain
- Per Chance To Dream
- Alien
- Mad As We Are
- Here In My Heart
- Love Is The Rage
- Catch 22
