1) "What is Andy saying at the very beginning of Breathe? (Album version)" (Robert)
Andy: Don't know! It's a bit of cut & pasting by Vince or it could be a voice synth!
2) "What is the meaning behind the song Crown of Thorns. The Royal Family? Margaret Thatcher? Some other morbid historical event in British history?" (Jaime)
Andy: I think it was a bit of an arty-farty response to Maggie's Clause 28 Government saying "So crucify me bitch!"
3) "As an individual, can you ever detach yourself from Erasure and play an Erasure album and listen to it as you may do with other bands?" (shazza b)
Andy: It kind of depends but it's quite difficult when you've sung the words to become unattached if you know what I mean! Though I do know what I like by other people I'm quite picky!!!
4) "I would like to know if you realised in the beginning that you might be as successful as you are now, and were you worried you would ever run out of ideas?" (Nick Allen)
Andy: Never worry about running out of ideas, there are just too many. Try not to think too much about 'success' 'cause when you do it never is!
5) "Erasure has recorded some wonderful Christmas tracks over the years (Crackers International, Ave Maria, etc.). Any thoughts on producing an Erasure Christmas album?" (Jake Cordova)
Andy: Would love to do one & Vince & I have discussed it before.
6) "Have you ever cried during a concert? If so, which song?"
Andy: Have had a few tears once in Germany at the end of Other Tour probably Mad As We Are & a couple of bleary-eyed Ave Marias on the last coz it's so powerful.
7) "Whose the most dislikeable and rude famous person you've met? Dish the dirt!" (Ros Thomas)
Andy: Usually if they have no idea who you are like Tim Robbins, but nobody really.
8) "At what point in the production of a track do you decide on the background layers that make a song really tick? For instance, what sounds like castanets on Love Affair, or the arpeggiated tones in Solsbury Hill." (Jesse Roberts)
Andy: That's down to The Maestro or whoever's producing, I generally just warble a bit.
9) "I'd like to ask Andy if he bought Agnetha Faltskogs (ex ABBA member) album 'My Colouring Book' and what he thought of it." (Louise Chmielewski)
Andy: To be honest I didn't listen all the way through but I love the remixes it's been highly recommended now by a couple of people so I'll give it a proper listen.
10) "Having got to love the Loveboat album, can you just tell me what was the thinking behind the production? Was it intended to sound "antique" or " back to basics"? Any chance of a slightly cleaned up version of the whole album?" (shazza b)
Andy: That sounds like a good idea. I didn't really understand the mixes - did lots of lovely Motown B-vox that got left off!
11) "Who decides where to go on tour, which countries etc?" (Thomas Lilja)
Andy: Generally the Tour Promoter - sometimes good & sometimes terrible routing-wise.
12) "Andy if you were both given a chance to cover a recent song what would it be?" (David French)
Andy: There's a lovely song by either Daniel Beddingfield or Justin Timberlake but don't know what it's called!
13) "Dear Andy, could you please tell me what the difference is going to be between your new solo album and Nightbird?" (Adam Wolke)
Andy: Nightbird is quite mature & melancholic, Electric Blue is more dance-floorish good times.
14) "On the sleeve for the 'The Innocents' album there are four different themes in four different colours. 3 of them seems to match the sleeves for the singles released from the album (blue: 'Ship Of Fools', red: 'Chains Of Love' and green: 'A Little Respect'). But what about the fourth theme (yellow)? Was the original intention to release yet another single?" (Magnus Larsson)
Andy: No idea, that's a bit too deep for me!
15) "Andy, did you see the movie "Videodrome" from 1982 with Debbie Harry and what do you think of it? Did you like it?" (Vinnie)
Andy: I think it's marvellous & would love to work with Kronenberg myself. As far as Debbie's concerned I worship the ground she walks on & would kiss her feet & the rest! Mmmmm. X
